CLCF Grant to Christian Shelter
Updated: Mar 26
A CLCF grant in the amount of $25,000 has been awarded to theChristian Shelter in Salisbury, Maryland to help with a variety of capital needs including the completion of rooms for families as well as HVAC and security upgrades.
The Christian Shelter is always hard hit during and immediately after bitter cold winter months and the hot days of summer.
“A recent tour of the Shelter demonstrated what a great task these folks are doing, and that they go about their responsibilities in an incredibly humble manner with frugal use of resources and modest means,” commented Debbie Byrd, CLCF Executive Director. “CLCF is pleased to provide this grant – and to continue working with the Shelter to locate and make application for other grant funds on their behalf.”
“The Board of Directors of CLCF felt it important to provide this direct grant to help the Shelter; our funds originally came from the community and we are dedicated to seeing it seeded back into the community,” said Gordon Marsh, CLCF President.
The Shelter’s on-going needs include linens (towels and sheets), health and hygiene products, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, disposable diapers, etc.), cleaning products (rags, sponges, cleaners, etc.) and basic food stuffs (sugar, flour, breakfast meats, lunch meats, jellies, butter, etc.). And they can always use additional volunteers – currently in the laundry, leading the children’s chapel program, in the office, and cooking!
